MOSAID Technologies Incorporated is one of the world's leading intellectual property (IP) companies, focused on the licensing and development of semiconductor and communications technologies. MOSAID counts many of the world's largest semiconductor companies among its licensees.

The Company's core business is the licensing of patented semiconductor and wireless/wireline communications IP, complemented by the development of innovative semiconductor memory technology. A key element of MOSAID's strategy is to expand its patent portfolio through licensing partnerships, patent acquisitions, and patents obtained on internally developed technology.

A History of Invention
Founded in Ottawa, Ontario in 1975 by Richard Foss and Robert Harland, MOSAID has a long tradition of leadership in semiconductor technology. Over three decades of MOSAID expertise and innovation has enabled semiconductor companies worldwide to improve the quality, reliability and functionality of their semiconductor products.

MOSAID invented key circuit technology that is used in virtually all mainstream Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) products - the main type of memory used in computers. In the early 1980s, MOSAID created the first commercial memory test system dedicated to engineering applications. MOSAID developed an extensive portfolio of significant semiconductor IP and a reputation for design excellence.

In the late 1990s, MOSAID commenced a long-term IP licensing program and soon signed its first comprehensive patent licensing agreement with a manufacturer of DRAM. Today, MOSAID has signed patent licensing agreements with 16 semiconductor companies, and has recently expanded its patent portfolio to include wireless patents.
